The Cyber Security Summer Camp is a fun, but intellectually challenging, 5 day introductry level course for Gibraltar students in ethical hacker. The course is geared to help students get an idea of what life in the Cyber Security industry is all about and for those students involved in the Cyber Security Challenge, to get a head start.
We are extremely honoured to be hosting the course at the University of Gibraltar who have supported this initiative from the very first Cyber Security Summer Camp. Attendance to the camp is administratored by the Physics department at Bayside School.
During the week we cover the following topics:
- Law and Ethics
- Life in Cyber
- 5 Phases of Ethical Hacking
All of the ethical hacking is performed within Hedgehogs custom designed labs and is 100% safe. The students are split into teams for the three days of lab work with the objective of completing puzzles to gain points.
New for 2019 are the side puzzles. Scattered around the university are a series of cryptograms that requiring solving for bonus points. These may range from simple Caesar Cipher puzzles to more indepth cryptograms and stenograms that may require a couple of days of analysis.
The requirements for the course are:
- Must be a student within Gibraltar
- Must have a laptop capable of running a virtual machine (any modern laptop with 4gb of ram and 40 gb of free disk space).
- A desire to learn more about Cyber Security.
We will be enabling the resources download from the 1st of June. The resources will be:
- Class Kali virtual machine image
- Offline Puzzle Book
