Two months of hard work in evenings and over the weekends came to fruition this week as on Monday we opened the doors to Gibraltar's first ever Cyber Summer Camp. The event was put on for kids from 13 to 17 attending school in Gibraltar.
Spread over five days, the first two days were dedicated to providing a solid footing in Cyber Security. Explaining law and ethics, our CEO Peter took the students through aspects of law and responsible, ethical hacking. Introducing them to Bug Bounty programs and personal research, Peter went through law, data protection, personal and corporate ethics and knowing the right from the wrong.
After the legal and ethical section, the team took the students through ethical hacking following the PTES methodology.
Day three had the students split into five teams in an extensive Capture the Flag environment with machines ranging from simple to extremely difficult. Spread across six networks, there were more than 50 machines within the labs for the students to try their hands at.
Right now we are halfway through the course. The ladies are leading the scoreboard but with less than 10 points separating the top three teams it is going to be a close-run thing.
